My name is Joell Ackerman. I was born in1970 in Pasadena, California. My family settled in the Inland Empire in time for me to attend and graduate from Cajon High School.
Immediately following High School, I enlisted in the United States Navy. I became a Cryptologic Technician; earning the highest security classification possible. I was Sailor of the Quarter under every command which I was assigned, and nominated for Sailor of the Year. My experience in the U.S. Navy taught me discipline and gave me a complete understanding of how important appropriate and precise materials administration is to any operation.
Upon leaving the Navy after 6 years of service to my Country, I returned to Southern California to attend Valley College and ultimately obtained a Bachelors degree in Government from Cal State San Bernardino.
I have held several Administrative positions with increasing levels of responsibility, including Billing Supervisor and Office Manager. My current job position is Administrative Manager for a large manufacturing company in Riverside.
As a lifelong resident of Southern California, I have a thorough comprehension of the cares, concerns, and needs of residents and businesses in Southern California. As a resident of Redlands I am keenly aware of the things that Redlands citizens consider important and the longstanding culture that Redlands seeks to preserve.
As a candidate for City Clerk of Redlands I recognize the importance of accurate record keeping, regulatory adherence, and the critical need to provide exemplary customer service to citizens conducting transactions with the City on a daily basis. It is my goal to make every citizen’s experience with the Redlands City Clerk’s office a friendly and straightforward process. No matter what your level of experience with City Government may be; no matter what your understanding may be of Government process, working with the City Clerk’s office should be an uncomplicated and pleasant experience. I promise to bring that to this office.
